Tiny and busy and often has a queue during term time. Cash only. The staff are very friendly and helpful - and for our first visit, suggested we go with the hand pulled noodles. We chose Kung Fu three in one pork noodles and beef brisket noodles with garlic and chili oil. Whilst we waited, it was fascinating to watch the chef pulling and stretching the noodle dough and then plunging the noodles into boiling water. The result was phenomenal. The noodles were soft but springy and had just the right amount of thickness to carry the salty pork mince mixed with finely chopped spring onions, garlic and chili oil with a hint of black vinegar. This dish also had steamed baby pakchoi, beansprouts for crunch, raw tomato for flavour and soft omelette - it all worked so well together and was comforting and full of flavour bombs. The beef brisket noodles were equally good - the beef was tender and really tasty. We were too full to move by the end- Service

The staff here are always kind and welcoming, and the food is delicious. My favourite dish is the biang biang noodles, which always hit the spot and take me back to Xi’an (although I do wish they had a bit more meat). My favourite restaurant in Durham!
The most amazing Chinese cuisine. Chef delivers authentic and unique flavour combinations. Fresh and vibrant ingredients. Soft and scrumptious hand pulled noodles. Best Chinese food I have ever tasted.

My daughter and I have been visiting for the last few weeks, since it has reopened under new ownership. Having both lived and worked in China for many years it's great to have such delicious, authentic chinese food in Durham! Friendly staff offering excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. Always busy with chinese students which is a good sign. You must go!

I have eaten in this restaurant more than 5 times, and I sincerely pointed out the problem and leave this comment.
No doubt that this is the best Chinese restaurant in Durham. They cook after placing an order, instead of other restaurants serving dishes directly with prepared dishes.
However, they really need more staff and tables & chairs. There are only one chef, one noodles chef, and two serving staffs. I believe that other people living in Durham also know that they have delicious food, so there will be a lot of customers during the peak time. They will be so busy that the serving staffs don't have time to manage the queueing customers, and they don’t recognise the orders of priority. Also there is no indoor space for the queues. I waited 25 minutes outside the door on a cold night to get a seat. When I sat down, the staff forgot to give me the menu. The older lady staff doesn't believe that the young boy staff can serve customers well. She tries to do everything by herself, while the boy can only stand aside and watch, which is why they are inefficient.
Their tables are large and come with 4 chairs, so they will ask strange customers to share a table when busy time, which is unfriendly for eating alone and couples.
They don't have any delivery platforms and click & collect service. If you want to have their food, you can only come to their shop and wait. Take out available, but you still need to wait for eating in customers.
In general, except food, the restaurant has big problems with the store layout, the number of staffs, staff training and service management.- Food
